Belarus has proposed launching direct flights with Indonesia and introducing a visa-free regime, Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhankou said.
“At the meeting with my counterpart, the foreign minister, we discussed a broad range of issues related to political cooperation, mutual support at international platforms, and matters that are important to our people. We talked about the fact that, in the very near future, Indonesia will take a closer look at exempting Belarusian citizens from the requirement to obtain a visa on arrival for visits to the country of up to 30 days.
That would be an excellent opportunity to expand people-to-people contacts. In addition, we are awaiting the Indonesian side’s response to our proposal to launch a direct flight. That would also be good news for tourists and business representatives,” Ryzhankou was quoted as saying by BelTA.
According to him, Indonesia plans to open its embassy in Minsk. Ryzhankou also said that bilateral trade, including services, exceeded $600 million in 2025. Trade turnover has continued to grow this year, including Belarusian exports.
The minister said that, in addition to exports of potash fertilisers, supplies of other goods are also expanding.
“These include food products, powdered milk and whey. We are also supplying or assembling our machinery in the country, which is in high demand, including in the mining industry and for the mechanisation of agriculture. We are also transferring certain agricultural technologies to the country,” the minister said.
The two sides are also developing cooperation in education, including training Indonesian specialists in Belarus in fields such as agriculture, medicine and engineering.
Belarus is interested in importing rubber, seafood, cocoa beans, palm oil, coconut oil, and certain types of equipment and machinery manufactured in Indonesia.
