Belarus Proposes Sending Its Representative to Afghanistan

Belarus plans to develop relations with Afghanistan, simplify the visa regime for Afghan businessmen, and send its representative to the country. This was discussed at a meeting between the Belarusian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Aliaksandr Aharodnikau and the Ambassador of Afghanistan to Uzbekistan Abdul Ghafar Bahr.

The sides discussed friendly relations between the countries and the expansion of political, economic and diplomatic cooperation, the Afghan Embassy reported.

“During the meeting, the Belarusian side proposed appointing a non-resident representative for Afghanistan, creating a joint industrial working group, establishing cooperation on a dry milk production project in Termez, developing interaction in the healthcare sector, simplifying the visa regime for Afghan entrepreneurs, expanding consular cooperation, as well as participating in regional projects Trans-Afghan (Trans-Afghan railway), TAPI (Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India gas pipeline) and CASA-1000 (power transmission line),” the embassy stated.
