Belarus Plans To Sow Nearly 2 Million Hectares Of Winter Crops

Belarus plans to sow nearly 2 million hectares of winter cereals and cruciferous crops. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food has approved a plan for the autumn fieldwork.

The total area of winter crops will amount to 1.957 million hectares. Cereals will account for 1.5 million hectares, including 232,500 hectares of rye, 678,300 hectares of wheat, 331,200 hectares of triticale and 258,400 hectares of barley. Rapeseed will also be sown on 456,500 hectares.

The work in August-October will require 252,000 tonnes of diesel fuel and 16,200 tonnes of gasoline.
