Belarus’ Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) has discussed the creation of a Belarusian online marketplace for legal entities and sole proprietors, as well as an electronic product catalog.
MART Minister Artur Karpovich said the catalog has significant potential.
“It can be used as a unified nationwide system for the procurement and promotion of Belarusian products both domestically and abroad,” the minister said.
The catalog will be integrated with national and international product classification systems, providing a unified approach to product identification. Users will have access to detailed product descriptions, global search, “smart” filters and multilingual support. The catalog will also help analyze price trends, demand, supply and sales volumes, the ministry’s press service reported.
The catalog currently contains more than 1.1 million product listings. About 20,000 new listings are added each week.
