Belarus is expected to see its first frosts, the Belarusian Hydrometeorological Center reported.

According to forecasters, the country is currently under the influence of a high-pressure system, specifically a Siberian anticyclone.

“As moderately warm air masses move along the periphery of the anticyclone, temperatures are forecast to be mostly 1–4°C above the climatic average,” the center said.

However, frosts are possible as early as this weekend.

“On October 2–4 (Friday–Sunday), frosts of 0 to -2°C cannot be ruled out in some parts of the country. Radiative cooling of the surface during the night and morning hours will make fog highly likely,” the forecasters said in their warning.
