The bilateral commission on military-technical cooperation has concluded its work in Iran. The Belarusian delegation was led by Chairman of the State Military-Industrial Committee Dmitry Pantus.
According to the committee, a plenary session of the commission was held on Wednesday. The sides summed up the results of their work and outlined further steps to develop relations. They reviewed current projects and discussed future areas of cooperation.
Following the session, Dmitry Pantus and Iran’s Deputy Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics Masoud Oraei signed a final protocol. The committee noted that the document not only summarizes two days of intensive talks but also clearly records the specific agreements reached during the plenary session and working meetings, setting new directions for joint efforts.
“The protocol will serve as a solid foundation for the long-term development of Belarusian-Iranian cooperation in the military-technical sphere,” the statement said.
The Belarusian delegation’s visit, which began on October 21, included a number of closed meetings.
At the conclusion of the visit, Pantus met with Iran’s Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh.
“During the meeting, the parties conducted a detailed review of the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, primarily in the military-technical and defense sectors. They noted positive dynamics in their interaction and mutual readiness to further strengthen the partnership.
It was emphasized during the talks that the development of relations between Minsk and Tehran serves the interests of both countries and contributes to regional and international security,” the State Military-Industrial Committee said.
