Another Cigarette Raft “Docked” On The Lithuanian Shore

Lithuanian border guards have pulled another cigarette raft out of the Nemunas River. As reported by the State Border Guard Service, officers were checking operational information and discovered a suspicious object on the riverbank in the indicated area.

The border guards retrieved a raft made of 200 packs of NZ Gold cigarettes bearing Belarusian excise stamps. The tobacco products were wrapped in plastic film. The cigarettes were seized. No one was detained.

In winter, smugglers often disguise such rafts as ice floes.
