Annual Inflation in Belarus Accelerates to 4.6% in September

The consumer price index rose by 0.5% in September compared with August, according to data released by Belstat. Year-on-year price growth also continued to accelerate.

Annual inflation stood at 4.6% in September, up from 4.5% in August.

Since the beginning of the year, the consumer price index has risen by 3.6%. It is worth recalling that the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) set monthly benchmarks for permissible price increases. For September, the benchmark was 4.9%.

Core inflation, which excludes price changes for seasonal and regulated goods and services, stood at 0.5% in September, up 0.1 percentage points from August. Since the beginning of the year, it has reached 3.9%.

In September, compared with August, food prices rose by 0.1%, non-food prices by 0.6%, and service prices by 0.9%.

Since the beginning of the year, food prices have increased by 0.8%, non-food prices by 3.4%, and service tariffs by 8.6%.

Year-on-year, food prices rose by 2.8%, non-food prices by 3.7%, and service tariffs by 9%.

It is worth recalling that the inflation target for 2026 is no more than 7%.
