The hockey team of Alyaksandr Lukashenka played to a draw with the Brest Region team on 27 December. During the match, an incident occurred involving an elderly player.
Forward Yaraslau Chuprys, wearing number 68, was skating backward and did not notice when he collided with a heavy-set player standing still under number 01. That player turned out to be Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
Lukashenka fell, dropped his stick, and landed on his back. He was unable to get up on his own.
Chuprys, realizing whom he had knocked down, rushed to help the older man. He managed to lift the visibly overweight Lukashenka and set him back on his skates.
