Archpriest Andrey Lemeshonak, spiritual father of the St. Elisabeth Convent in Minsk, and Abbess Havriila (Maria Glukhova), head of the Holy Nativity of the Mother of God Convent in Hrodna, received Pushkin Medals from Vladimir Putin.
The award ceremony took place in the Kremlin today, as Russia marked National Unity Day.
Lemeshonak and Havriila were honored for their “significant contribution to the preservation and promotion of the Russian language and culture abroad.” Both clerics are known for their pro-Russian statements and support for Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
