A1 Fined 109.7 Million Rubles Over “Games” With Tariffs

At the request of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART), mobile operator A1 has been fined 109.7 million rubles for discontinuing legacy plans and transferring customers to a more expensive plan.

On June 1, 2025, A1 discontinued its legacy “Bez Limita” and “Bez Limita 2.0” tariff plans and transferred customers to the current “Drive Unlim” plan, which costs more. In April this year, the MART commission found that this violated antimonopoly legislation. A1 attempted to appeal the MART decision to the Supreme Court, but the court ruled in favor of the ministry.

As a result, the Minsk Economic Court held the company administratively liable. A1 was fined 109.7 million rubles, while a company official received a fine of 2,250 rubles, the MART press service reports.

The court ruling has not yet entered into force and may be appealed.
