Ryzhankou Does Not Oppose Ukraine’s Participation in Eurasian Security Conference

Belarus does not object to Ukrainian representatives taking part in the Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security. Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhankou said this on the sidelines of the fourth conference, SB. Belarus Today reports.

According to the minister, both Ukrainian experts and political analysts, as well as officials, could be invited to participate.

“We are not the ones closing the window of opportunity for cooperation with this country. Let me remind you that we have no embassy in Ukraine. Conditions were created that forced us to leave the country. At the same time, the Ukrainian embassy continues to operate in Belarus,” he said.

According to him, Belarus has provided Ukrainian diplomats with all the necessary conditions to carry out their work.

“This concerns actions related to exchanges, the transfer of correspondence and the maintenance of channels of communication, including with the Russian side,” the foreign minister said.

In his view, regional security cannot be discussed without addressing the issue of Ukraine.

“If Ukraine is ready to engage, its doors are open,” Ryzhankou said.
