Melania Trump, wife of US President Donald Trump, will meet with representatives of Ukraine and Russia in Washington.

On 5 November, Melania Trump will make a statement on the ceasefire in Oleshky.

“First Lady Melania Trump will personally bring representatives of Russia and Ukraine, two nations actively at war, together at the White House. This event represents an extraordinary moment in American history.

Mrs. Trump independently initiated engagement between the two warring nations and successfully secured a ceasefire in Oleshky and the surrounding Kherson region. This achievement marks an unprecedented diplomatic initiative by an American First Lady,” the White House press release said.

The ceasefire in Oleshky, which is occupied by Russia, was in effect from 27 October to 1 November. During that period, a humanitarian operation was carried out, and humanitarian aid was delivered to Oleshky residents. Arrangements were made for those wishing to leave to travel to Russia or Ukraine via Belarus. Ukraine and Russia have agreed not to disclose the exact number of people evacuated.
