Snapkou Discusses Non-Core Projects at Nezhin Mining and Processing Plant

Nedra Nezhin OJSC, which is building and operating the Nezhin Mining and Processing Plant, is already spending money on non-core projects. First Deputy Prime Minister Mikalai Snapkou said this after a meeting with Aliaksandr Lukashenka. According to him, the company is ready to support the development of the Liuban district, where it is located.

“The enterprise is ready to provide every possible form of assistance, including financial support, including through the remaining funds under the Chinese credit line from the China Development Bank, for any projects that Minsk Region proposes as part of its strategy for the development of the Liuban district”, Snapkou said, BelTA reports.

The first deputy prime minister added that Nedra Nezhin OJSC has already planted an 18-hectare fruit orchard and plans to plant another 25 hectares next spring. Greenhouses for growing vegetables, berries and flowers indoors are planned to be built on the site of the current construction camp.

Aliaksandr Lukashenka said today that the first and second phases of the Nezhin Mining and Processing Plant were not commissioned on schedule and that there were questions about the quality of the work being carried out. The enterprise has not reached the production capacity that was promised during last year’s visit.
