TVEL President Natalya Nikipelova announced this at the “Electric Transport: Reality and Prospects” conference in Minsk, BelTA reports.
According to Nikipelova, the Russian side is ready to work with Belarus to establish production of energy storage systems for electric transport and stationary power systems.
“We are ready to localise this production in Belarus in partnership with the Belarusian side. I am confident that this will involve not just the localisation of our technology, but joint development work,” she said.
Nikipelova noted that Rosatom launched its first gigafactory for lithium-ion energy storage production in Russia last year and a second one in 2026. She stressed that such products require continuous improvement.
The company also expressed interest in cooperation on the production of electric drive systems for passenger electric vehicles and mobile charging stations equipped with energy storage systems.
“Belarusian industry has significant expertise. If we pool our efforts, it will benefit both our economies. We are open to proposals for cooperation,” the head of TVEL added.
The conference was held as part of the Belarusian Energy and Ecology Forum. It was organised by Belarus’s Ministry of Energy, the state production association Belenergo and Rosatom.
