Belarusian Central Election Commission To Distribute Books On Belarus’ Electoral System In The Philippines

Representatives of Belarus’ Central Election Commission will travel to the Global Assembly of the Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB), which will be held in the Philippines, not empty-handed. They will bring with them an English-language book about the country’s electoral system.

“As early as next week, copies of the publication will be officially presented to election organizers from different parts of the world,” the Central Election Commission said.

The book will be distributed by Deputy Chair of the Central Election Commission Aliaksei Bashan and head of the International Cooperation Department of the Central Election Commission’s office Siarhei Shmarlouski.

“The new publication, dedicated to electoral law and the specifics of conducting election campaigns in Belarus, is intended to familiarize foreign audiences and international experts with our country’s electoral system,” the Central Election Commission commented.

It should be recalled that the transparency, integrity and fairness of election campaigns held in Belarus are regularly questioned by international organizations. At the same time, in recent years, only observers from organizations loyal to the country’s leadership have been allowed into Belarus to monitor elections.
