EU Agrees New Sanctions Against More Than 1,500 Russian Individuals and Entities

EU ambassadors at the European Council have agreed on new sanctions against Russian legal entities and individuals. RFE/RL Brussels correspondent Rikard Jozwiak reported this.

The agreed restrictive measures target 743 individuals and 826 legal entities linked to Russia’s military-industrial complex.

The ambassadors also agreed to impose sanctions on 77 people included in the new composition of Russia’s State Duma from the occupied territories of Ukraine.

Finally, the ambassadors agreed to extend EU sanctions related to chemical weapons. The measures concern 31 individuals and six legal entities.
