Overpricing of Bread Found in Homiel Region

The State Control Committee found that a private company in the Homiel region had increased prices for bakery products without approval from the regional executive committee.

An inspection established that the price increases had occurred systematically from October 2024 to June 2026. During this period, the company sold products at “inflated” prices worth more than 1 million rubles.

“Following the inspection, prices for bakery products were brought into compliance with current legislation,” the State Control Committee’s press service reports.

Administrative proceedings have been initiated against the company and the person responsible. They face a fine of up to 10% of the value of the products sold.
