Four People Killed in Road Accidents in Belarus in 24 Hours, Nine More Injured

Eleven road accidents occurred in Belarus over the past 24 hours. Four people were killed and nine others, including two children, were injured, the Interior Ministry’s press service reported.

On Friday evening, two pedestrians were struck by vehicles in Brest and Minsk regions. Neither was wearing reflective elements.

In Davyd-Haradok, a 63-year-old local resident was riding an electric bicycle along the edge of the roadway in the same direction as traffic, although there was a pedestrian path to the left of the road. He was struck and killed by the driver of a Mercedes truck.

In Minsk district, a Renault driver struck a 38-year-old man who was crossing the road at an undesignated location without a reflective element. The pedestrian was killed.

At around 9:30 a.m. today in Pietrykau, the driver of a MAZ truck struck his 62-year-old colleague while reversing. The man was killed.
