1,176 European Bison Counted in Polish Part of Bialowieza Forest

The Polish Bialowieza National Park has summed up the results of its annual European bison census. As reported by the park, as of December 31 last year there were 1,176 European bison living in the Polish part of the Bialowieza Forest, including 176 calves.

In Belarus, the Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park conducted its annual European bison census from January 20 to February 9. However, the results have not yet been published. Last year, 726 European bison were counted in the Belarusian part.
