Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia had twice attempted to attack his plane with drones in recent weeks. He told CBS News in an interview.
“In Moldova, my presidential jet was there, and that’s why they attacked Moldova. When we went back home, again through Chisinau, they did the same”, he said.
On September 8, Zelenskyy arrived in Norway via Moldova. The Norwegian prime minister said Zelenskyy’s plane nearly collided with a drone while taking off in Moldova. Media reports later clarified that the flight was delayed because of a drone in Moldovan airspace. No reports emerged of a second incident.
Commenting on a strike on a railway near the Polish border, when a train carrying European officials was there, Zelenskyy suggested that Russia may have known who was on board.
“Maybe they [the Russians — Reform.news ed.] didn’t know that some Americans had been there or maybe, oppositely, they knew, because I don’t trust them. I think that they knew. That’s why, Europeans, Americans, the big delegation had been in this train, and they attacked”, Zelenskyy said.
