Russia used more than 1,900 attack drones, 1,700 aerial bombs and 25 missiles against Ukraine over the past week. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this. According to him, more than 800 of the drones used over the week were jet-powered.
He also confirmed another drone strike on Kyiv’s Northern Bridge. A warehouse storing medical supplies was attacked in Sumy, killing one person. In Dnipro, a communications facility was hit, injuring six people.
Over the past night, Russian forces launched 135 attack drones at Ukraine, more than 50 of them jet-powered. Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Donetsk and Sumy regions, as well as Zaporizhzhia, came under attack.
“And among the main targets of these terrorists, as always, are ordinary residential buildings, critical infrastructure — everything that makes up ordinary daily life. Power outages are being reported in populated areas”, the Ukrainian leader said.
Zelenskyy also said that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is in Kyiv today. According to him, Ukraine and Germany are preparing important agreements in the area of protection against Russian strikes.
“A country that consistently demonstrates leadership in protecting the lives of Ukrainian men and women from Russian strikes. We are grateful for all the support. And today we are preparing decisions to ensure that we in Ukraine and throughout Europe have more opportunities to defend ourselves. There will be important agreements between Ukraine and Germany. Russia must be stopped together. Thank you to everyone who helps”, he said.
