Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking at the 4th International Summit of Cities and Regions “Partnership. Resilience. Readiness”, used the presence of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya to make a jab at Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
“Today we also have with us representatives of Sweden, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. And for the first time in this format — representatives of Belarus. Recently, Lukashenka said that it was time for the presidents of Ukraine and Belarus to meet. Interestingly enough, Lukashenka said it, but Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya arrived. Glad to see you, Sviatlana”, he said.
It should be recalled that last week, during a nuclear exercise, Aliaksandr Lukashenka said that the time had come for him to meet with Zelenskyy.
“If he wants to talk about something, seek advice or anything else, please — we are open to it. Anywhere — in Ukraine or Belarus — I am ready to meet with him and discuss problems in Belarusian-Ukrainian relations. And perhaps talk about prospects. For some reason, we have things to discuss with Americans, Germans, Poles, Lithuanians and Latvians, but not with Ukraine…”, Lukashenka said at the time.
