Russia launched a massive combined attack on Ukraine using missiles and drones overnight on November 7. The Kyiv region was the main target. Kyiv\u2019s Northern Bridge was damaged, and disruptions to electricity, heating and water supplies were reported. Six people, including a child, were injured in the Ukrainian capital.<\/p>\n

According to the Ukrainian Air Force<\/a>, Russian forces used Iskander-M, Zircon, KN-23 and S-400 missiles, as well as 172 drones of various types, including Shahed and Gerbera drones and Parody decoy drones. Of the 172 drones, 137 were jet-powered.<\/p>\n

As of 9:00 a.m., preliminary reports said Ukrainian air defences had shot down or suppressed four missiles and 149 drones, including 117 jet-powered drones. Impacts were recorded at 24 locations, while debris from intercepted aerial targets fell at another 10 sites.<\/p>\n

Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko<\/b> reported<\/a> that the Northern Bridge was damaged in the Russian attack. Traffic has been suspended in both directions. The road surface, trolleybus overhead wires and a power line on the bridge were damaged. The blast wave also damaged five trucks parked near the bridge. Road and municipal services are working at the site, while specialists assess the extent of the damage.<\/p>\n

In the Solomianskyi district, debris struck a five-storey residential building. Windows were blown out in another five-storey building by the blast wave.<\/p>\n

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine<\/a>, a Russian drone struck a two-storey private house in the Darnytskyi district. The resulting fire was extinguished. In the Sviatoshynskyi district, rescuers put out a fire involving rubbish at an abandoned industrial site, as well as a small fire on the roof of a two-storey non-residential building. Six people, including a 14-year-old child, were injured in the attack in Kyiv.<\/p>\n

Energy facilities in the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions were also damaged.<\/p>\n

According to Klitschko, the Ukrainian capital is facing an extremely difficult situation with electricity supplies. This has also affected heating and water supply systems. Energy workers and municipal services are working to restore electricity, heating and water supplies to city residents.<\/p>\n

In Vinnytsia Region, a building belonging to a State Emergency Service unit and rescue equipment were damaged<\/a> in a Russian strike. The personnel were in a shelter during the attack, so none of the rescuers were injured.<\/p>\n

Civilian infrastructure was also damaged. Several private cars and a market kiosk were destroyed by fire on the grounds of a local market. Windows were blown out in nearby buildings. One person was injured in the attack and is in hospital in serious condition.<\/p>\n

According to the agency, all fires caused by the attack have been extinguished.<\/p>\n
