The death toll from a Russian airstrike on the town of Komyshuvakha in Zaporizhzhia Region on November 2 has risen to 37. Search and rescue operations are continuing, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Search-and-rescue dog teams and a unit of the State Emergency Service’s State Mountain Rescue Service are working at the site.<\/p>\n

Russian forces struck Komyshuvakha with aerial bombs. The bombs hit a school where humanitarian aid was being distributed. After the initial strike, another nine bombs were dropped on a shelter where people were staying.<\/p>\n

On November 3, Mykhailo Semikin<\/strong>, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported<\/a> that 58 people were listed as missing. The identification of those killed is continuing.<\/p>\n

In June, a mandatory evacuation of children was carried out in Komyshuvakha. Police evacuated 11 children from the town. No mandatory evacuation of the adult population was declared, but according to the regional administration, those wishing to leave are being helped to reach safer locations.<\/p>\n

Since the beginning of the year, police have evacuated 166 people from Komyshuvakha, including 77 elderly people and 33 people with limited mobility. Around 200 residents remain in the town.<\/p>\n
