Aliaksandr Lukashenka<\/strong> believes that the United States should negotiate with Cuba rather than follow the Venezuela and Iran scenarios. He made the appeal at the Minsk Conference on Eurasian Security.<\/p>\n

\u201cCuba is next. We know very well what is happening there. Does anyone really expect aggression from the Cubans? I am sure they do not. The problem is simply that some people dislike the very existence of the Island of Freedom and the policies pursued by its leadership. The United States should negotiate with Cuba and build normal relations,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n

Lukashenka noted that a struggle for resources and irresponsible competition had unfolded around the world, and that these trends were reflected in US policy.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook at Venezuela. The abduction of President Maduro. Why? Someone needs oil. The country does indeed have huge reserves. If we had the time, I could tell you a great deal about Venezuela. At the request of the Americans themselves, I was involved in this process before the Venezuelan president was captured. All the problems, including those related to oil, could have been resolved without any of this nonsense, without seizing the president \u2014 an act that is a disgrace in the modern world.<\/em><\/p>\n

I cooperated with Iran, and especially with [Hugo] Chavez. I know what kind of oil they have there. Most of the oil extracted there is heavy crude, and refineries were built specifically in the United States to process this oil efficiently and economically. The Venezuelans understood this. So cooperation was possible. No, instead they heroically attacked the country and captured Maduro at night. Well, all right, such is the fate of our president. But what was his wife guilty of? And now I do not know what to do about it. I warned them about this, too. You have seized him, but have you thought about what happens tomorrow? How are you going to get out of this situation?\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n

The United States, he added, subsequently became embroiled in Iran.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then things went even further. Why did they bomb the country and kill its Supreme Leader along with his family? There has been mostly silence on our part. But why?
