Investigators believe they planned to carry out arson attacks near a railway line and a power transmission line, WELT <a href=\"https:\/\/www.welt.de\/politik\/deutschland\/article6ae21a6d21fd087fed7edabf\/festnahme-zwei-mutmassliche-saboteure-russlands-in-bayern-verhaftet.html\">reports<\/a>, citing security sources.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Munich Public Prosecutor\u2019s Office, the men are suspected of planning, on behalf of a foreign state or organization, to use incendiary devices to set fire to a building or critical infrastructure facility. The aim was to cause significant material damage and threaten Germany\u2019s security. They are believed to have been promised payment for carrying out the assignment.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThese actions are classified as conspiracy to commit arson in conjunction with agent activity for the purpose of sabotage,\u201d<\/em> the authority said.<\/p>\n<p>According to the publication, both suspects have been in custody since October 7 under a warrant issued by a court in the city of F\u00fcrth.<\/p>\n<p>The men are also under investigation in Romania <a href=\"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/two-belarusians-and-a-ukrainian-suspected-of-involvement-in-sabotage-in-romania\">in connection with a suspected sabotage plot<\/a>.
