These figures are not final; some sources earlier reported 46 fatalities.<\/p>\n<p>This morning, a Renfe train collided with an Iryo train. Both were travelling from Madrid to Seville. According to preliminary information, the Iryo train had stopped on the tracks when the second train, travelling at more than 100 km\/h, crashed into it. Investigators are reportedly considering driver error and a malfunction in the signalling system, which should have warned the second train that the tracks were occupied.<\/p>\n<p>Several carriages derailed in the collision, and two fell down an embankment.
