A Renfe AVE high-speed train travelling from Madrid to Seville collided with an Iryo train travelling in the opposite direction.<\/p>\n<p>Adif, the company responsible for managing railway infrastructure, has suspended traffic on the Madrid\u2013Andalusia high-speed line.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/elpais.com\/espana\/2026-10-28\/adif-suspende-la-circulacion-de-la-linea-de-alta-velocidad-entre-madrid-y-andalucia-por-un-alcance-entre-dos-trenes.html\">El Pa\u00eds<\/a>, eyewitnesses reported numerous casualties. Two carriages derailed and fell down an embankment. No official information on casualties has been released so far.<\/p>\n<p>Minutes before the accident, the Renfe train had slowed down because of traffic problems on the line.<\/p>\n<p>Update, 12:25<\/p>\n<p>The government of the Castilla-La Mancha region has confirmed that 10 people were killed.
