Polish customs officers intercepted three shipments of Belarusian cigarettes. Around 9,600 packs were being transported on a freight train, while more than 1,500 packs were found in two cars.<\/p>\n

At the customs terminal in Ma\u0142aszewicze, customs officers discovered cigarettes in a railcar carrying pellets while scanning the train. A total of 9,600 packs of Belarusian cigarettes had been hidden between bags of legitimate cargo. The shipment is estimated to be worth 200,000 zlotys ($51,000), the Lublin Customs and Tax Office in Bia\u0142a Podlaska<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n

At the Ku\u017anica border crossing, customs officers seized<\/a> more than 1,500 packs of Belarusian cigarettes from two cars driven by two 21-year-old Belarusian men. In both cases, the cigarettes had been hidden inside the seats. The value of the smuggled goods was estimated at more than 31,000 zlotys ($7,900).<\/p>\n
