Russian President <b>Vladimir Putin<\/b> said this during a meeting with US presidential envoy <b>Steve Witkoff<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Witkoff thanked Putin for the \u201cdiesel deal\u201d, under which Moscow will supply diesel fuel to the United States. According to Witkoff, the fuel will be used by American farmers and freight carriers.<\/p>\n<p><i>&#8220;As for diesel, following the announcement by both sides that supplies would be made to the United States, prices for diesel on global markets immediately fell by 5-6%.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><em>We are preparing shipments, with several vessels \u2014 tankers \u2014 being readied right now. The first tanker will depart in two or three days, carrying 40,000 tonnes, and others will follow one after another. The only thing that needs to be ensured is the financial side so that everything works,&#8221;<\/em> Putin said.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier today, Russian Deputy Prime Minister <strong>Alexander Novak<\/strong> said the first tanker would depart for the United States on October 22.<\/p>\n<p><i>&#8220;As for farmers, I know that President Trump even mentioned this during our telephone conversations. We could also supply fertilisers to the American market, and in large quantities,&#8221;<\/i> Putin added.<\/p>\n<p>It should be noted that Russia already supplies substantial quantities of fertilisers to the United States.
