{"id":591496,"date":"2026-10-20T14:22:44","date_gmt":"2026-10-20T11:22:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reform.news\/?p=591496"},"modified":"2026-10-20T14:27:45","modified_gmt":"2026-10-20T11:27:45","slug":"belarusian-christian-democracy-to-hold-congress-in-bialystok","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/belarusian-christian-democracy-to-hold-congress-in-bialystok","title":{"rendered":"Belarusian Christian Democracy to Hold Congress in Bia\u0142ystok"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>The Belarusian Christian Democracy party will hold its congress on October 24 in Bia\u0142ystok.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOne hundred years ago, on October 24, 1926, in Vilnius, during celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of Krynica, the newspaper of the Belarusian Christian Democratic Association, a decision was made to establish the BCD party.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This year, on the same date, October 24, 2026, a major forum of Belarusian Christian Democrats will be held in Bia\u0142ystok with the support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, bringing together Belarusian politicians, clergy and foreign guests,\u201d<\/em> <b>Pavel Sieviaryniec<\/b> said.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 120 delegates have been nominated for the congress. Speeches by Belarusian politicians and clergy are expected, along with greetings from foreign guests.<\/p>\n<p>The BCD considers Bia\u0142ystok a centre of the Belarusian diaspora. The city lies roughly halfway between Vilnius and Warsaw and is also home to one of the largest branches of the Belarusian Christian Democracy movement.<\/p>\n<p>Those expected to speak at the congress include <b>Pavel Latushka<\/b>, <b>Franak Via\u010dorka<\/b>, <b>Dzianis Kuchynski<\/b>, <b>Yauhen Vapa<\/b>, <b>Pavel Usau<\/b>, <b>Yury Hubarevich<\/b> and <b>Zmitser Dashkevich<\/b>, as well as European People\u2019s Party Vice-President <b>Andrzej Halicki<\/b> and <b>Gabriele Baumann<\/b>, head of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation\u2019s Belarus office.
