{"id":591401,"date":"2026-10-20T11:05:52","date_gmt":"2026-10-20T08:05:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reform.news\/?p=591401"},"modified":"2026-10-20T12:17:38","modified_gmt":"2026-10-20T09:17:38","slug":"veterinarian-sentenced-to-five-years-for-bribe-in-veterinary-drug-procurement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/veterinarian-sentenced-to-five-years-for-bribe-in-veterinary-drug-procurement","title":{"rendered":"Veterinarian Sentenced to Five Years for Bribe in Veterinary Drug Procurement"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>The Dzyarzhynsk District Court has found the chief veterinarian of an agricultural enterprise guilty of accepting a bribe under Part 2 of Article 430 of the Criminal Code.<\/p>\n<p>According to the prosecution, he received $8,000 from the director of a commercial company in exchange for selecting the company in a procurement procedure for veterinary drugs.<\/p>\n<p>The bribe was handed to him on February 3 this year through \u201cother individuals who were unaware of his criminal activities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the trial, the defendant partially admitted his guilt but voluntarily repaid the proceeds of his crime.<\/p>\n<p>The court sentenced him to five years in prison, to be served in a correctional colony under an enhanced-security regime. He was also fined 1,000 base units (45,000 roubles) and barred for five years from holding positions involving organisational, managerial and administrative responsibilities, as well as from performing legally significant acts.<\/p>\n<p>The veterinarian had been released on bail pending trial.
