Polish services are continuing searches and investigating reports of a nighttime incident involving a suspected violation of the country’s airspace. Several scenarios are being considered, including meteorological anomalies, smuggling and provocation. None has been confirmed so far, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Territorial Defence Forces personnel are taking part in the search, and a military helicopter has been deployed. The operation is being conducted jointly with the police and the Military Gendarmerie. According to the command, the measures are preventive and aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt this stage, various possible scenarios are being considered, including meteorological phenomena or anomalies, as well as potential smuggling-related or provocative activity. None of these possibilities has been confirmed so far,\u201d<\/em> the statement said.<\/p>\n

The command also drew attention to reports about the incident circulating online. The military said there were currently no grounds to confirm their authenticity or their connection to the ongoing search.<\/p>\n

According to the command, the possibility cannot be ruled out that some of the posts are attempts at information manipulation or part of a deliberate disinformation campaign intended to cause public concern. However, the statement did not identify any specific posts.<\/p>\n

The military urged the public to remain calm and rely on trustworthy official sources of information.<\/p>\n

If any objects that could be debris from an aircraft or other object are found, the command asks people not to approach, touch or attempt to move them. Any discovery should be reported immediately by calling 112.<\/p>\n

The Operational Command continues to monitor the situation and has pledged to provide updates on newly established facts once they have been confirmed.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, earlier Poland deployed military aircraft in its airspace<\/a> in response to Russian drone strikes targeting locations in western Ukraine. Ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems were placed on alert.<\/p>\n
