According to information from the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office, the man received 10 payment cards from an individual and then sold them, along with their PINs and access details for electronic wallets, for 300 rubles.<\/p>\n<p>According to the case materials, the man searched online for people looking to make easy money. He offered to pay them to open bank accounts in their own names and hand over the cards and access details to him.<\/p>\n<p>To avoid criminal liability, the Minsk resident persuaded one of the participants in the scheme to issue a notarised power of attorney authorising him to manage the other person\u2019s accounts and cards. However, the prosecutor\u2019s office noted that such a document did not exempt him from liability for the illegal circulation of payment instruments.<\/p>\n<p>The Vitebsk Prosecutor\u2019s Office opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 222 of the Belarusian Criminal Code.
