He made the announcement at a meeting with students at the University of \u0141\u00f3d\u017a, Belarusian Service of Radio Poland <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/radyjo\/posts\/pfbid0nXa7YV3xB5NziRnntwiVp3sZoFnE466spW9LzzC31jnek6fm3EJRKLXpVgeBec4wl\">reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Poczobut noted that opportunities for the Union of Poles in Belarus to operate have shrunk significantly since 2020, but he hopes that Western countries\u2019 policies will help expand the space for the Polish minority to operate in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Andrzej Poczobut is a Belarusian journalist of Polish origin. In 2023, he was sentenced to eight years in prison on charges of inciting hatred and calling for sanctions.
