A segment on Patel\u2019s arrival was published on Yahoo News.<\/p>\n<p>Plans for the FBI director to visit Russia first became known in July. According to Politico, the trip was scheduled for October 14\u201315 and was to include visits to Moscow and St. Petersburg. The Federal Security Service (FSB) was expected to host the visit.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the visit, senior Democrats in the House of Representatives, <strong>Jamie Raskin<\/strong> and <strong>Jim Himes<\/strong>, urged Patel to cancel the trip on national security grounds. As The Atlantic reported on October 9, current and former FBI employees also expressed concern about the visit.
