According to Via\u010dorka, the minister initially approached him with his hand extended but then refused to shake hands.<\/p>\n<p>Via\u010dorka <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/viachorka\/posts\/pfbid0iKowLYSspQL6yniiZzbXYbjmaJ5RYV4EzvhQjiqaZ3MT9X41jDGiewHCBYd6xuszl\">described<\/a> the episode while commenting on Ryzhankou\u2019s statement that Minsk <a href=\"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/minsk-says-steps-are-being-taken-to-arrange-a-meeting-between-lukashenka-and-trump\">\u201cdid not stand with its hand outstretched.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cI walked toward him \u2018with my hand outstretched,\u2019 and he eagerly came toward me, also with his hand outstretched, until he realized what was happening half a meter away \u2014 apparently he recognized me and got scared,\u201d<\/i> Via\u010dorka wrote.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cBelarusians do not get a hand extended to them,\u201d<\/i> the author of the post commented on the refusal to shake hands.<\/p>\n<p>According to Via\u010dorka, Ryzhankou exclaimed: <i>\u201cBeggar!\u201d<\/i> The minister refused to meet with him, then spent another minute or two talking about the \u201coutstretched hand\u201d and ended his monologue with the words: <i>\u201cGet a bigger hat.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Via\u010dorka also wrote that Ryzhankou and his colleague walked around the sidelines together. <i>\u201cThey are not known, not recognized, and not particularly liked either,\u201d<\/i> he said, describing the attitude toward representatives of the Minsk regime.<\/p>\n<p>In the comments to the post, Via\u010dorka added that former Foreign Minister <strong>Siarhei Aleinik<\/strong> was \u201cmore open,\u201d while <strong>Uladzimir Makey<\/strong> \u201cactually responded to \u2018Long Live Belarus!\u2019\u201d In Tsikhanouskaya\u2019s adviser\u2019s assessment, Ryzhankou appears to be \u201cthe most pro-Russian, no matter how much he tries to show otherwise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p>Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya\u2019s visit to New York took place on September 21\u201324, 2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chief adviser to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya Franak Via\u010dorka described on Facebook a brief conversation with Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhankou on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
