They came to Vilnius for consultations with Belarusian democratic forces and partners based in Lithuania.<\/p>\n<p>Kuchynski thanked the special envoys for their work and stressed the importance of the format for systematic engagement with Belarusian democratic forces and coordination of international support for Belarus. The meeting also noted the appointment of a new French special envoy.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives of the NB8 countries reaffirmed their support for Belarus and Belarusian democratic forces, as well as their readiness to continue working together.<\/p>\n<p>A significant part of the meeting focused on the situation inside Belarus, repression and the situation of political prisoners, as well as assistance to those being released. Kuchynski thanked Lithuania for receiving and supporting released political prisoners and Belarusians living in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Other issues included transnational repression and problems faced by Belarusians outside the country, including legalization and obtaining documents. In this context, the participants stressed the need for coordination among partner countries to protect Belarusians who cannot safely return home. Regional security, Belarus\u2019s role in the context of Russia\u2019s war against Ukraine, and maintaining a coordinated approach among international partners toward Belarus were also discussed.<\/p>\n<p>The International Humanitarian Fund was another important topic of the meeting. All countries represented at the meeting have already joined the fund\u2019s work. Kuchynski thanked each of them for their participation and financial support. The discussion also focused on further funding: for some countries, the next contributions will be their second, while for others they will be their third. Kuchynski stressed the importance of long-term support for the initiative.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cIt is very important for us that countries continue to work with democratic forces through the institution of special envoys. This format makes it possible to maintain ongoing dialogue and coordinate joint actions.
