A bus driver was carrying veterinary medicines and spare parts into Belarus in hidden compartments. Belarusian customs officers discovered the goods while inspecting the bus at the Brest checkpoint.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old driver told customs officers that he had nothing to declare. However, customs officers searched the bus and found three hidden compartments: in the fuse box compartment of the dashboard, behind the panel above the driver\u2019s seat and behind the cabinet mirror in the bus\u2019s restroom. They contained 112 packages of veterinary medicines and auto parts.<\/p>\n

The total value of the seized goods is estimated at about 55,000 rubles. The bus, valued at about 140,000 rubles, has also been seized pending a court decision, the State Customs Committee reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Administrative proceedings have been initiated under Part 2 of Article 15.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. The article provides for a fine of up to 30 basic units, with possible confiscation of the concealed goods and the vehicle.<\/p>\n
