He said the institution of the family was experiencing a crisis and that the concepts of marriage and parenthood were under pressure.<\/p>\n<p>According to Hora, Belarusian prosecution authorities regard protecting the family and childhood as <em>\u201ca key area of their work, with oversight in this sphere aimed at preventing the penetration into society of destructive ideologies that contradict the spiritual values of the Belarusian people\u201d<\/em>, the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office <a href=\"https:\/\/prokuratura.gov.by\/ru\/media\/novosti\/mezhdunarodnoe-sotrudnichestvo\/zashchita-traditsion01102026\/\">reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor general noted that over the past three years, social media had seen <em>\u201cnumerous instances of promoting ideas of rejecting the institution of the family, discrediting motherhood, threatening that life problems will arise after the birth of a child, denying the value of a child\u2019s life and downplaying the public and medical dangers of abortion, and inciting hostility towards children\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Following prosecutors\u2019 requests, courts designated eight online communities \u201cextremist\u201d for <em>\u201cpromoting the ideology of the childfree movement and the LGBT movement\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Also, since the beginning of the year, access has been restricted in Belarus to 1,400 online resources <em>\u201cwhose content could harm minors\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At the initiative of prosecutors, Belarusian courts have designated eight online communities \u201cextremist\u201d for \u201cpromoting the ideologies of the childfree movement and the LGBT movement,\u201d Belarusian Prosecutor General Dzmitry Hora said at the 24th meeting of heads of supervisory agencies of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation member states in Kazan, Russia.
