His visa had expired, and he was unable to obtain a residence permit.<\/p>\n<p>Police detained the 35-year-old Belarusian in the municipality of Poniec, in the Greater Poland Voivodeship. A document check revealed that he was not legally entitled to stay in Poland, Gosty\u0144 police <a href=\"https:\/\/gostyn.policja.gov.pl\/wl4\/aktualnosci\/279915,35-letni-obywatel-Bialorusi-zatrzymany-za-nielegalny-pobyt-w-Polsce.html\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Belarusian had entered Poland on a visa. After his period of lawful stay expired, he applied to the voivode for a temporary residence permit. However, the proceedings were discontinued, and he did not receive permission to stay.<\/p>\n<p>Police handed the man over to the Border Guard. A decision was issued ordering him to return to his country of origin.
