Brest customs officers thwarted the illegal import of lizards from Poland into Belarus. The reptiles were handed over to Minsk Zoo, the State Customs Committee reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The lizards were discovered at the Brest border crossing. A 44-year-old bus passenger chose the green channel when going through customs. Her luggage was scanned by X-ray, revealing suspicious polystyrene boxes.<\/p>\n

Five boxes contained five lizards \u2014 crested geckos. They were seized and handed over to Minsk Zoo. Administrative proceedings have been initiated against the woman under Part 2 of Article 15.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (moving goods across the border while concealing them from customs control).<\/p>\n
