The exhibition “Presence of Memory”, featuring works by participants in two art residencies at the House of Artists, is on display at Prze\u015bwit, a cultural institution in Warsaw. Unfortunately, the exhibition is running for a very short period, with just a few days scheduled: from the evening of September 27 to the evening of September 29.<\/p>\n

The House of Artists, an organisation that supports Belarusians facing repression, was founded in Warsaw in December 2021 to support, rehabilitate and provide opportunities for creative expression for Belarusian artists.<\/p>\n

In addition to art residencies, the organisation has held music, theatre and even folklore residencies. In most cases, the residencies conclude with an exhibition, theatre production, concert or musical composition.<\/p>\n

The House of Artists began organising summer residencies for Belarusian artists in Warsaw in 2022. This year, Andrei Dukhounikau<\/b> served as artistic director and curator of the residency. He selected 11 Belarusian artists through an open call, and their works were subsequently included in the exhibition “Presence of Memory”. Works from the previous residency, “Registers of Memory”, were also presented.<\/p>\n

The artists have varying levels of experience, from beginners to established masters. The exhibition features works by Natallia Bordak, Siarhei Hrynevich, Ales Papkovich, Serafim<\/b> and other artists.
