According to a report by the Office for Foreigners, 35 people were recognised as refugees, one person received subsidiary protection, 49 Belarusian citizens were denied international protection, and proceedings in 17 cases were suspended.<\/p>\n<p>It should be noted that the number of positive decisions increased in August. In July, international protection was granted to only 14 Belarusians, while 82 received negative decisions. In June, 25 people received positive decisions, while 52 were denied international protection.<\/p>\n<p>Since the beginning of the year, the Office for Foreigners has issued decisions in 1,010 cases involving Belarusian asylum seekers. From January to August, 281 Belarusian citizens were granted refugee status, 377 received subsidiary protection, 214 were denied international protection, and proceedings in 138 cases were discontinued.<\/p>\n<p>As of September 1, the Office was continuing to process 3,212 cases involving Belarusians, including 2,954 at first instance and 258 at second instance. In August, the number of cases at first instance fell by just five, while the number at second instance increased by 63.<\/p>\n<p>As of September 1, 131,420 Belarusian citizens held documents granting them the right to reside in Poland. Their number fell by 1,637 in August, which may be linked to the expiry of residence permits and lengthy procedures for processing them.<\/p>\n<p>As of September 1, Belarusians in Poland held:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>76,047 temporary residence permits,<\/li>\n<li>41,290 permanent residence permits,<\/li>\n<li>9,785 subsidiary protection statuses,<\/li>\n<li>2,668 EU long-term resident statuses,<\/li>\n<li>1,238 refugee statuses,<\/li>\n<li>214 people were residing under temporary protection,<\/li>\n<li>178 held other statuses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In August, the Office for Foreigners issued 1,477 positive decisions on temporary residence permits, 230 on permanent residence permits, and 106 on EU long-term resident status.<\/p>\n<p>In August, the Office denied temporary residence permits to 174 applicants, permanent residence permits to 97 applicants, and EU long-term resident status to 14 Belarusian citizens.<\/p>\n<p>Since the beginning of the year, temporary residence permits have been issued to 15,612 Belarusians, permanent residence permits to 2,478, and EU long-term resident status to 702 Belarusian citizens.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Poland granted international protection to 36 Belarusian citizens in August.
