GAI officers fired at a VAZ vehicle in Dokshytsy District. The offender was detained.<\/p>\n

According to the Interior Ministry’s press service, at around 4:30 a.m. officers attempted to stop a VAZ vehicle. Its driver ignored the officers’ signals and attempted to flee.<\/p>\n

A pursuit began. The driver tried to get away, weaving along the road and making it difficult for the police vehicle to overtake him. The officers decided to use their service firearms. The VAZ eventually left the road, followed by the GAI vehicle. The driver was detained.<\/p>\n

“The driver was a 32-year-old resident of Barysau District with multiple previous convictions. His physical condition aroused the officers’ suspicions. He refused to undergo a medical examination. He had previously been disqualified from driving for drunk driving. His 34-year-old brother, who was also intoxicated, was in the vehicle”<\/i>, the Interior Ministry’s press service said.<\/p>\n

Both detainees were placed in a temporary detention center. The vehicle has been taken to a guarded parking lot.<\/p>\n
