The case is linked to the smuggling of Belarusian cigarettes into Lithuania.<\/p>\n<p>The officer from the Kabeliai border guard post of the Var\u0117na Border Guard Unit was detained in Var\u0117na while off duty, the Lithuanian border guard service <a href=\"https:\/\/vsat.lrv.lt\/lt\/naujienos\/pasienieciai-sulaike-dar-viena-itariama-tarnyba-piktnaudziavusi-pareiguna-XR8\">reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, a pre-trial investigation was launched at the Pag\u0117giai Border Guard Unit into the illegal handling of excise goods and abuse of office.
