The Belarusian monitoring center BELPOL analyzed<\/a> documents regulating the annual city competition for the best organization of ideological work in Minsk organizations. According to BELPOL, the competition uses specific indicators \u2014 subscriptions to state-run press, the arrangement of information stands, participation in voluntary patrol groups and cooperation with the church \u2014 which can be used to compare the work of organizations.<\/p>\n

The competition is held in two stages. The district stage ends by Sept. 1, while the city stage runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 30. The evaluation commissions include officials, deputies and representatives of pro-government trade unions.<\/p>\n

According to the documents analyzed, certain types of work are scored. The highest of the listed scores, 6 points, is awarded for \u201cideological support of labor competition\u201d and \u201cdevelopment of mentoring.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another 3 points can be earned for the results of a subscription campaign for state-run print media. The presence of a museum of the organization\u2019s history and up-to-date displays featuring state symbols are each worth 4 points. Having a territorial voluntary patrol group brings 3 points, while cooperation with the Belarusian Orthodox Church is worth 2 points.<\/p>\n

A separate category is provided for IT-sector organizations. It takes into account, among other things, the maintenance of records nomenclature, which is worth 3 points, as well as participation in citywide information events.<\/p>\n
