{"id":581331,"date":"2026-09-25T11:31:20","date_gmt":"2026-09-25T08:31:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reform.news\/?p=581331"},"modified":"2026-09-25T12:10:58","modified_gmt":"2026-09-25T09:10:58","slug":"korsakau-family-added-to-belarus-extremist-list","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/korsakau-family-added-to-belarus-extremist-list","title":{"rendered":"Korsakau Family Added to Belarus\u2019 \u201cExtremist List\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>The Interior Ministry has added 13 more people to the \u201cList of Citizens of the Republic of Belarus, Foreign Citizens or Stateless Persons Involved in Extremist Activities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among them are spouses <b>Tatsiana\u00a0<\/b>and <strong>Dzmitry Korsakau <\/strong>and their daughter <b>Pelageya<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>In June, the Minsk City Court in absentia <a href=\"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/minsk-family-convicted-on-state-treason-charges\">sentenced<\/a> 27-year-old Pelageya Korsakava to 11 years in prison. Her parents, Tatsiana\u00a0and Dzmitry Korsakau, were sentenced to 12 and 14 years, respectively. The court also fined the family 50,000 rubles.<\/p>\n<p>The couple were charged under articles concerning \u201chigh treason,\u201d illegal actions involving firearms, ammunition and explosives, as well as the illegal movement of weapons, ammunition and toxic substances across the border. Their daughter was found guilty of \u201chigh treason.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pelageya Korsakava has lived in Ukraine since 2021, where she works as a graphic designer and coordinates rapid-response volunteers who assist people affected by missile strikes.<\/p>\n<p>Her parents, who previously worked at a kindergarten, were detained in September 2025. According to Pelageya, before his detention, her father called her and said he had been detained, while her mother had allegedly been hospitalized after a stroke. An unidentified person then demanded that the woman come to Belarus if she wanted to secure her parents\u2019 release. It later emerged that Tatsiana\u00a0Korsakava had not been hospitalized.<\/p>\n<p>Pelageya Korsakava considers the charges against her family absurd and links the criminal prosecution to her living in Ukraine and maintaining contact with her parents.<\/p>\n<p>Also on the list is 52-year-old Armenian citizen <strong>Yervand Martirosyan<\/strong> from Vitsyebsk, who was convicted under an article on insulting Lukashenka.
