Moldovan police have identified the type of drone that exploded in the country’s Briceni district. Its wreckage was discovered on Sept. 24.<\/p>\n

According to information released by police this morning, it was most likely a Geran-4 jet-powered drone. Police found a jet engine, parts of the wings with servomotors and ailerons. Many of the components are marked \u201cGeran-4.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to preliminary information, the drone exploded at an altitude of about 10 meters after colliding with trees. The blast damaged trees within a radius of about 25 meters.<\/p>\n

On Sept. 24, Moldova\u2019s Defense Ministry reported that four objects had crossed the country\u2019s airspace in the morning. Border guards found the drone wreckage in the evening, 1.7 km from the state border.<\/p>\n
